Ryder Racing - Cylinder 4 Cooling Mod Kit
As everyone knows Subaru's are prone to overheating, there are a number of people claiming they created the cooling modification as an industry first. Well what if Subaru actually performed this modification first when the phase 2 2.5L engine were released? During our time with Subaru we were approached as technicians to carry our this modification, it wasn't quite as glamorous as our kit but it was the same method. This was in response to a huge number in warranty repairs where 2.5L heads gaskets were prematurely failing. Now Ryder Racing has perfected the method and added a few bonuses in there as well.
Routing the coolant from another source allows additional coolant to get to the passenger side head, this additional coolant reduces the combustion temperature, risk of premature detonation and head gasket failure. How the temperatures are balanced across both case halves. This is essential with close deck blocks due to the minimal coolant flow.
Using the custom Ryder Racing black anodized T6061 Aluminum "T" fitting doesn't just limit you to tap into the correct coolant line but intuitively has a 1/8th NPT port for you water temp / pressure gauge eliminating further disruption to you cooling system. High grade Aeroflow silicone heater hose feeds the coolant to the custom black Anodized barb fitting. Fitting are all secured using stainless steel American hose clamps.
